Playing in Central Park Today

7:12 am, by tricky coyote

Ever since hearing Paul Simon’s free concert in Central Park (on tape) I imagined how fun it would be to play there. Something epic about it. Well, we’re not doing a 2 million person free gig but we are playing in the park for a big event, and it is free, and it is sunny, too, after 5 inches of rain yesterday.

Playing from 2-5pm at the northern edge of the park after the NYC Century, a 6000 person bike ride to raise fun any mun for Transportation Alternatives, the group behind much of the rad new bike lanes in the city. If you haven’t left the house yet, I think you missed the ride, but you can still come pedal the system…

Start is located at the Harlem Meer in Central Park. Enter at 110th St & Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd.

We rolled in on Amtrak last night to begin our East Coast bike tour. We arrived at the station with 7 bikes and 5 people and all of our gear. Turned Penn Station into a bike shop for a few hours. Getting a camera soon to show some pix. Also, stay tuned for some big changes to this site and gingerninjas.com; we’re going to put together a virtual tour of this next world journey to share.

    Hey ecowarriors for peace!

It was an honor to ride with you guys from Denver and hang out.

I just accessed your stuff online and it really blew my mind!

wish I could be there in nyc for the gig but have a feelnig you will set up a base camp up here in Connecticut in the wood in betwen gigs. (showers, swimming, organic food, even beds and a kitchen if you need it.

I finally understand the bike generator thing an it just blew my mind (I have a yard littered with exercise bikes I wanted to hook up but am too dense technically to figure out the mechanics.

so you guys to me are angels. Plus you brought me together with the ukeleli lady lilly on her way to foragng and survival school like a good ecowarrior and who is the granddaughter of one of he “network” or the underground who knew my father. PEeCE ON ALL OF YOU FOR EVER! .

CAN’T WAIT TO SHOW YOU THE WILDERNESS HERRE and try to hook you up with some gigs of possible nearby to raise some dough for travels and consciousness raising and equipment

and you can meet my wild and beautiful homeschooled kids (Raphael 14, who plays dick dale, white stripes and sings regina spektor in russian (she is in the village btw right now an i ill try to get her manager to let her know she should check you guys out).

more later but call me. I left messages on your phone

    PS

In New Haven they held a train for me at 11 pm to New London (my hometown)

Not one minute later the train hit a tree which had been taken down by the storm and brought a live line with it causing a huge explosion and boom when the live wire landed on my railroad car withaa crash and huge POP and knocked the power out in the train for hours.

what a reception in my home territory

Got home and to bed around 5 am

    love and peace,

    bill

hope to see you soon and we wlil try to se all your shows here if possible

I have potentiial gigs set up for you in new london connecticut at the I Am festival, the hygienic art park and connecticut college. There is some money and hotels included AND it is only 12 miles from my home base where you can set up a base camp if you want with hot water and showers and beds.

Three venues in New London have different demographics but are all within a mile or so of each other (college, waterfront rock fest, art park/coop) so logistics are easy and housing is nearby and convenient.

But i have to know if you want this right away before the options fade

conn college(where there is definitely some money) has an opening this thursday and the next one (sept 11 and 18) and the I am festival and art park has available space on saturday afternoon and evening.

If we wait too long these opportunities will be gone but they are solid now with hotel, some cash, and convenience and you can set up a camp nearby with swimming etc too if you want.

My number is 860-873-3236 call me soon!
