We met up with Jamie in Moscota, between Puerta Vallarta and Guadalajara, and took him on a wild ride on a dirt road with massive ditches that pilgrims walk on their way to Talpa, a famous pilgrimage site where a magical statue of a virgin was gifted to a little girl. The road was much better for walking and for horses and Joey’s xtracycle broke in half en route. Dante, the mad scientist and engineer of the pedal power sound system, promptly fixed it with a lucky mule shoe he had found the day before, a pair of vicegrips, some rocks, a metal gate and a 15 foot cam strap.
