North of santa barbara, some friendly guy, a bike rider himself, invited us to thanksgiving at his place as we rode by. we declined, needing to make miles, but were stoked to be let in on some inside knowledge: although bikes aren’t allowed on the freeway overpass above the santa maria river, you can avoid the several mile bike detour by just biking across the dry riverbed. it’s that easy! cool man, thanks!! having inside knowledge of the cool bike trails and shortcuts makes everything happier.
