Longbike and Trailer Dual it Out Down Under

Two riders went off into the Australian Outback (well, actually it’s called the Jagungal Wilderness, but dumb American me I just assume everything outdoors in Australia is probably the “outback”). One with a BOB trailer, the other with an Xtracycle. It’s a cool photo journal that highlights some of their differences. Here’s an excerpt from one of the journey’s tales:

“We had dinner with him in the hut. He explained that he and his mate had split up as they had disagreements over starting times. He explained all this while walking around in just his undies- we reckon that might have contributed to it as well. Their split up was dangerous and stupid - one had the stove; the other the pot. One had the compass; the other the map. one took the first aid kit; the other the tent. It was a frustrating meal, and…”

The meat of the BOB vs. Xtracycle gear comparison is on the last page of the journal. Incidentally, I found this journal while perusing an on-line discussion of what touring rig to buy. One of the posters had a lot of good things to say (and some infrequently mentioned ones) about Xtracycle touring.
