Around World w/o Fossil Fuels
4:28 pm, by tricky coyoteTim Harvey set off by Xtracycle from Vancouver Canada a couple years ago. The Ginger Ninjas rendesvoused with him and his teammate Colin in Fairbanks AK. Since then, Tim rode, slogged, and rowed to Moscow and across some oceans and stuff.
Now he’s in Venezuela, getting ready for the little ride home.

This is what happens when your friend’s bike’s brakes break and you’re unlucky enough to have an Xtracycle:
“That shot was taken when we went down a hill that melted the brakes on Colin´s girlfriend´s (Julie Wafaei´s) road bike, and she almost flew off the highway on a switchback. That hill on highway 97C, dropping into the Thompson River Canyon, is one of the steepest and longest downhills in BC on any highway I have seen. Colin and I were racing down and having fun, until we stopped mid-hill to wait for Julie, who rolled up shaking and teary with fright from the brake failure. Colin unloaded his bike and gave it to her to ride. He then rode her bike, and I loaded all ! of Colin´s gear on top of my already-hugely-stuffed SUB, and continued down the second half of the monster hill into Ashcroft, BC! By the time I reached the Thompson River, my brakes were smoking too…”

Speaking of Xtracycle products, will we see a longbike frame by the end of 2006? How’s it coming?
