Shampooey Hooey

In the spirit of decumulation, dematerialization, and just generally getting out from underneath the heap of crap that seems to fall endlessly from the heavens (help us), I imagine a post-shampoo existence. Those that know me and my hair well might imagine that I have already imagined just such an existence. And in truth, I did go for a couple of years without shampoo but now I’m thinking of not just a quitting, but a substitution. Greasiness works to the benefit of few in these modern days. No, I don’t want greasy, I just want less product.

I think hair gets greasier the more often you wash it. Once I went camping for three weeks and didn’t so much as remember the concept of shampoo. I got home and washed up for a wedding. My hair stayed clean and fluffy for a week! But during periods of bi-daily shampooing, it certainly needs it by the bi-day!

So I found this, and as soon as my current bottle of sweet-smelling loveliness runeth out, I’m done for good (well, we’ll see).
Everything you need to know about going shampoo free in 2006.
