One more recollection of hanuman advice:

the idea is to find and enter the flow with the vessel you have.
sometimes the vessel isn't up to the demands of the flow.
then you have to work on the vessel.

Another that struck a chord with me:

Do you see what's missing or what's present? the lack or the abundance?

I've been a pretty critical person for most of my life, often noticing and pointing out faults. But what does that serve? Isn't it sometimes (usually? always?) more fulfilling to notice and appreciate the good?

I've been complaining to my friends about how this and that sucks about our portrayal on mtv. But I'm going to go into this next week with an eye towards all the good of it, and the people making it possible for me/us--all the people with the courage to put some counter-culture freak on one of the mainest streams flowing.
