living on purpose

11:48 pm, by hanuman

KC and I just got off the phone after a long discussion of his time in LA, the challenges, the doubts, the opportunity… it was wonderful to connect, reflect and share the challenges posed by living on purpose.

Some good points to remember:
When trying to decide what to do, ask myself: is my current thinking being motivated by fear or joy? Choose joy.
Embedded in each life experience is the opportunity to strengthen the vessel and flow more current.
Every day is a chance to practice gratitude. To live with the knowing that I am provided for now. The Abounding River Book is an amazing introduction to “an unfamiliar view of being abundance”. (www.withthecurrent.com)
The weight of responsibility is a human creation. Living on purpose tastes like frolic.
I forget so many of the other good ones!
But the winner is… get on my bike and go for a cruise… with friends!

Another that struck a chord with me:

Do you see what’s missing or what’s present? the lack or the abundance?

I’ve been a pretty critical person for most of my life, often noticing and pointing out faults. But what does that serve? Isn’t it sometimes (usually? always?) more fulfilling to notice and appreciate the good?

I’ve been complaining to my friends about how this and that sucks about our portrayal on mtv. But I’m going to go into this next week with an eye towards all the good of it, and the people making it possible for me/us–all the people with the courage to put some counter-culture freak on one of the mainest streams flowing.

One more recollection of hanuman advice:

the idea is to find and enter the flow with the vessel you have.
sometimes the vessel isn’t up to the demands of the flow.
then you have to work on the vessel.
